The Final Exam will be similar to the Midterm Exam, except for a few modifications. The main difference is a reduction in the number of objective questions in favor of adding more subjective questions. This will allow you to digest the major themes of the course, applying them to specific media industries, rather than relying on rote memorization of names, dates, and terminology.

The exam will cover the following media industries and associated topics:

  1. Radio
  2. Motion Pictures
  3. Television
  4. Internet
  5. Public Relations
  6. Advertising
  7. Telephone & Convergence
  8. Globalization
  9. Regulation

The exam will take place on Wednesday, May 9, at 1:30 PM, for the afternoon (L01) section, or on Monday, May 14, 6:00 PM, for the evening (C03) section. The exam will consist of twenty (20) questions of the following nature:

True-False Questions

Answer five (5) questions by indicating whether the statement is either true or false. 2 points each.

Multiple Choice Questions

Answer five (5) questions by selecting the best choice that completes each statement. 3 points each.

Identification

Identify five (5) terms and explain the significance of each for the specific media industry, in about two to three sentences. 5 points each.

Short Essay Questions

Answer five (5) questions with a one-paragraph response, about four to five sentences. 10 points each.
